We are living in a time of a great shift in the church where we will witness a modern day reformation. With the increase of people walking away from the church, many believers are looking further into the nature of the gospel and the heart of it’s message. This is causing a re-engaging with those who are outside of the church to hear the gospel in a different light for the first time in their lives. This is causing many Christians to re-look at how we fulfill The Great Commission. We look at Acts 8 to see how we help shift the church. Each generation has the opportunity to be like Philip and fulfill the vision God has for them. It’s our job to recognize the time and season we live in, so that we can help facilitate the work God is doing now. It was the destiny of the people of Israel leaving Egypt to enter the promised land and conquering it. It was their stubbornness that forfeited an entire generations destiny (except for Caleb and Joshua.) We are given the same opportunity now.

Acts 21 and Acts 22
Every great move of God is has been met with resistance. It often has two sides pressing in. Those who are your target audience “the world”, the ones that God is trying to reach, that resists. Those who are suppose to have your back. Those who are on “God’s side” and should be following God’s move but resist it because they are often content with what they have built. You literally can read the struggle between the New Covenant believers and the Old covenant believers. The Law vs The Gospel of Grace. This tension is not relieved until the temple of Jerusalem is finally destroyed. Paul repeatedly tried to reach the Jews to the point of frustration sometimes Acts 19)
We live in a time when the earth groans for the revealing of the sons of God we are a generation of God’s people being equipped to fulfill our destiny. We live an a time
of such intensity. We support a kingdom of light and truth.
We are the leaders of the revolution.
We are a liability
We are dangerous
Will we live in such a way that shakes kingdoms and ushers in His reign?

Monday Jan 19, 2015
Our calling as Christians is to encounter God through the power of the holy spirit and allow his visible presence to transform our lives. By allowing the holy spirit to move in our lives we build a testimony that others see and are drawn to. That's evangelism. Encountering him and being transformed. In Luke 19 we see an encounter with Jesus bring about repentance and reconciliation. In Matthew 26 we read an encounter with Jesus develop intimacy and spring forth ministry naturally. We must learn to leave room for God to move in our lives to build and confirm our faith. His word creates the path we walk to change and transform our community. Christianity is not intended to be lived without the transforming power of the holy spirit encounter.

This week we look at the story of Jacob (Gen ch:27-30) and David (1 Chronicles ch:16-19) and their relationships with God. One who spent much of his life seeking his own advancement and another who saw God as a prize and not a stepping stone.
